Board of Education Tour of MES and MMS
On Monday, April 9th, the Board of Education toured Moyock Elementary and Moyock Middle Schools. One of the highlights of the tour was seeing the students and staff integrating technology into classroom activities. Some examples follow.
Student in the MMS Media Center are using computers for research.
Ms. Messier, Teacher of the Year at MMS, is using a data projector in her 6th grade classroom. Ms. Messier has been one of the technology trail blazers at MMS this year. Visit the team webpage where homework assignments are regularly updated.
MMS students in Ms. Corbo’s class prepare for the upcoming Computer Skills Test.
Mrs. Rose at MES regularly uses student assistants to help with book checkin.
Students in the MES lab are learning keyboarding skills.
MES Students in Ms. Joyner’s classroom are using ClassScape, an online formative assessment tool. This program is available for all schools and includes assessments aligned with the NC reading and math curriculum. The students told me they like this better than Accelerated Math because they don’t have to scan cards for scoring!
